family! The Ruttger Family's tradition of hospitality goes back four
generations, to 1898- that's more than 110 years of historic
family resort operation in Minnesota.
Ruttger's Birchmont Lodge is located on
the northwest shore of beautiful Lake Bemidji, just north of the bustling
college town of Bemidji. Nestled in the lake and forest region of north
central Minnesota, Bemidji offers the solitude of the north woods but the
amenities of a much larger city.

Ruttger's is the perfect place for your romantic retreat, family resort vacation, or family reunion.
The resort's accommodations include lakefront rooms, suites, town homes, a whirlpool suite with fireplace, and cottages with 1 to 4
bedrooms, all spread out along our 1700' natural sand beach. Our guests
enjoy the terrific golfing at the many nearby 9 hole and championship 18
hole golf courses.

The resort lodge and cabins are spread out along a
beautiful natural beach. Ruttger's offers
a host of summer activities including
fishing, swimming, sailing, water-skiing,
sail boarding, canoeing, kayaking, and much more. In the summer months the
resort also offers a complimentary supervised children's recreation
program.
Children love the supervised hiking, bonfires, treasure hunts, and other
planned events, most provided at no additional charge. Resort guests
are also welcome to use the resort's basketball court, canoes,
and basic kayaks FREE of charge. So ENJOY!

"Stayed at your resort a couple of days ago and just
wish to say that it was the best stay of our vacation, especially for the
price. Having a double room with single beds for the kids was a bonus,
great, reasonable food on site was a bonus, beach on site was a bonus, We
really enjoyed the kayaks, and your staff was soooo friendly and helpful!
Kudos to Melissa and Erin (waitresses, who if you didn't have any pink
lemonade, conjured some up, and if you didn't have floats on the menu,
could invent one, wow). You didn't even have any mosquitos!

In the Fall and Winter seasons, some of
the resort facilities close. The resort dining room and bar are closed. Ruttger's does keep several motel
rooms, some
town-home style units and cabins or Villas open during the colder months.
The indoor pool, exercise rooms, sauna, and whirlpool are open all year
long offering you and the kids a great Northern Minnesota winter family vacation spot. In the fall, guests
enjoy the beautiful Autumn colors in the
woods surrounding the resort and Bemidji area. Hunters enjoy the abundant
game population that our north-woods location provides. The deer, duck,
and grouse hunting in the Bemidji area is hard to beat.

Wintertime
activities include: Downhill Skiing at Buena Vista Ski area and
Cross-Country Skiing on the many city,
county and State Park cross country trails near the resort. Snowmobiling
has also become very popular in our area, Ruttger's guests enjoy direct access to snowmobile trails right
through the
resort. Fishermen will love to fish Lake Bemidji in the wintertime too.
Rental ice fishing houses are available on many area lakes and on nearby Red
Lake.
In the summertime the resort has lodging
and conference facilities for groups of 5 to 80 people.
